Wellbeing and resilience training for language professionals
Language work carries occupational risks that are easy to overlook until they accumulate. Interpreters in medical, legal and asylum settings encounter distressing material regularly and can experience vicarious trauma; translators spend long hours alone at a screen, with the isolation, sedentary strain and blurred boundaries that freelancing brings. This page collects training that takes those realities seriously: managing exposure to difficult content, recognising and recovering from burnout, voice care and vocal health for interpreters, workstation ergonomics, and building working patterns that remain sustainable over a career rather than a season. Sessions are often run by practitioners who combine language work with counselling or coaching training. Skilliga is a free, volunteer-run directory.
