Tips for better listings

Welcome to the new Skilliga. Here are some key tips to help your listings stand out and perform at their best.

Title and descriptions

Make sure your title is catchy and clear, and that your descriptions are helpful, thorough, and readable. You can use our built-in AI assistant to suggest tweaks to your descriptions if you like.

Set your dates, times, and (possibly) frequency

…for live events. These will be automatically added to the Skilliga calendar, so please double-check that you’ve got them right!

Cover image

You can upload your own text-free image (ideally in a 16:9 widescreen ratio), choose a royalty-free photo from our library, or even use our AI tool to generate a custom one based on your listing's text.

Tip: You don’t have to be literal; the fact that your training is about interpreting doesn’t mean you necessarily need headphones or a notepad in the image. Choose something you feel reflects the spirit or the value of your event. Since images and titles are the first things people see on the homepage, they’re your best way to make a great first impression.

Organiser logo

We recommend a square format; try to keep it simple and avoid small text, so that your logo stays clear and recognisable.

URL-to-listing with AI

Save time by using our “Create a listing from a URL” tool. Simply paste a link to your event from another site, and our AI will automatically pull the information into a new draft. It’s the fastest way to get your content live.

While this feature saved us a huge amount of time during the migration from the old site, the result might not always be perfect, so please review the draft carefully before publishing.

Monitor your stats

Keep an eye on your listing statistics in your Dashboard. If you notice that a listing isn't getting as much attention as you'd like, try changing the cover image or refining the title to see what resonates best.

Your visibility

Listings on Skilliga are randomised regularly to keep the discovery process fair for everyone. The exception is for “Don't miss” features and high-rated content, which typically appear at the top.

Tip: Encourage your attendees to review your past events, on-demand courses, and resources, to boost your visibility.
