From Efficiency to Efficacy: Building resilience for linguists
Professional linguists can feel the pressure to operate at full capacity all the time, while balancing competing demands. In this webinar, learn how to build resilience and bounce back from adversity to feel stronger and more capable to cope.

As professional linguists, we feel the pressure to operate at our optimum and possess an innately keen desire to try and balance the competing demands we are faced with in our professional and private lives. We sometimes forget to acknowledge that time is a finite resource and that our energy resources are closely connected to our basic human needs; it is imperative to understand what fuels/drives us on a daily basis and the areas that need attention, where we need to re-set/refuel and re-distribute energy for greater capacity and efficacy.
Building resilience is the ability to recover and bounce back from adversity and hardships feeling stronger and more capable to cope moving forward thus creating the right environment(s) for us to thrive albeit at our own pace.
Key take-aways:
Mindset management: invitation to focus on malleability of emotion and positive self-talk; your brain is always listening!
Participants will be encouraged to reflect upon and assess their current energy levels considering the following 4 quadrants: Physical/Body, Emotional/Psychological, Spiritual, thus enabling them to identify areas that need attention
Focus on how to manage energy and time invested in activities that focus on efficacy
Given the tools to build a resilience plan moving forward
